The MRC × EMD perspective

Trust. Judgment.
Vision.
People who care.

A beautiful home begins with understanding the people who will live in it. How your mornings unfold. Where everyone gathers. What isn’t working today, and what you hope life at home could feel like.

Michael Robert Construction and Ellie Mroz Design bring different expertise to those same questions. Together, we help you see the possibilities, work through the decisions, and carry a shared vision from the earliest plans to the rooms you live in.

Everything under one roof matters because of the people beneath it: a connected team, a thoughtful point of view, and real accountability for the work.

The people behind your home

A shared vision.
Experienced people.
Care at every step.

The strength of MRC × EMD is in the people doing the work: the planning and project management teams, skilled carpenters, interior designers, furnishings specialists, and the people keeping the details moving behind the scenes.

They get to know your home, help you work through decisions, and bring their expertise to the parts of the project they know best. When construction and design are part of your scope, those perspectives come together around the same goals.

Your project’s team and points of contact are established around your scope, so you know who is coordinating the work and who to turn to with questions.

What we believe

As technology makes it easier than ever to imagine a beautiful home, the people you trust to bring it to life matter more than ever.

Ideas open the door. Experience, care and the decisions made together bring a home to life.

The complete MRC × EMD experience

Start with the people.
Shape the home together.

Bring us in while your ideas are still taking shape. We can talk about the way you want to live, what your property makes possible, and how the construction, interiors and furnishings can support the same vision.

How the team comes together

Different expertise.
Connected decisions.

Every project has its own scope. The people and services involved are defined around the work your home needs.

01 / PLANNING & PROJECT MANAGEMENT

See the next step.

Work through priorities, scope and upcoming decisions with the people coordinating your project. Clear points of contact help keep the conversation moving.

02 / CONSTRUCTION & CRAFT

Care in the making.

MRC’s construction team and carpenters bring the plans into the home, with attention to workmanship, the details of the build, and the people living with the result.

03 / INTERIOR DESIGN & FURNISHINGS

Keep the whole home in view.

EMD connects materials, finishes, lighting and furnishings. Its designers consider how the rooms feel and function, while procurement and coordination carry approved selections toward installation.

Thoughtfulness is a team effort

The work behind
the finished room.

Reviewing selections. Resolving a detail. Thinking through how one decision affects the next. The finished home reflects the attention your team gives to those conversations along the way.

The foundation of MRC × EMD

Founded by Mike and Ellie.
Carried forward by the team.

Mike Mroz founded Michael Robert Construction in 2005. Together, Mike and Ellie Mroz shaped the partnership between MRC and Ellie Mroz Design around a shared belief: construction, interiors and furnishings should be considered together. That approach is carried into each project by the professionals behind both companies.

Your home. Your starting point.

Two areas of expertise.
A shared point of view.

MRC brings the planning and construction experience. EMD brings the interior design and furnishings perspective. Get to know the people and work behind each business.

Better, together

One vision, from the
floor plan to the furniture.

Construction changes the spaces. Design shapes how they feel. Furnishings determine how you live in them. Bringing those perspectives together early helps the decisions support the same home.

01 / THE WHOLE PICTURE

Plan the room—and how you’ll use it.

Where will the sofa sit? How will people move from the kitchen to the table? Will the windows leave room for a bed? Design and construction planning work better when these questions are part of the conversation.

02 / CONNECTED DECISIONS

Work through the details together.

Cabinetry, lighting, tile, hardware and furnishings affect one another. MRC and EMD can work through those connections with you, rather than treating each selection as a separate decision.

03 / REAL ACCOUNTABILITY

People who carry it through.

A shared vision needs people looking after it. Our construction and design teams work through the decisions with you, keep the details connected, and take responsibility for their part in bringing your home to life.

A personal gathering space, planned into the way the family lives.

See beyond the room.

Placing the staircase to one side opened views through the family room to the backyard. Layout and natural light were considered together.

Let the details connect.

Arches recur at the entry, along the hallway and in the pub. Natural materials carry into the furnishings, giving each room a place in the larger story.

Make it personal.

The pub connects to the wine room, family room and covered pergola. A wish-list idea became a space that belongs in everyday life.

Do I need an architect before we talk?

No. MRC can manage architectural planning and preconstruction through its design-build process, coordinating the architect of record, engineering and other required professionals.
